Kids Say The Darndest Things!

Happy Saturday!!  I have survived enjoyed my first two half days with my 22 new friends.  22???  I know for some of us that isn’t a big number but our limit is capped at 15, so 22 is a lot.  And I always tell people that because my students come to Kindergarten with no experiences at all, it’s like teaching 44 kids.  I have 2 severe behavior issues and 1 ELL student with ZERO English.  We’re hopeful the district will provide us with another teacher, but if not, I am ready for this challenge!  Does anyone know of any ELL blogs out there?  I could use some help/guidance/lessons for my sweet little Tu!
We did a fun activity yesterday to work on learning our names and build some fine motor skills.  I printed each child’s name in a bubble font.  I used Lettering Delights Fat Font.  I printed them on legal size paper so they were plenty big.  Each child got a sheet of mini apple stickers and sparkly smiley face stickers.  They used their stickers to fill in their bubble names!  The kids had a blast!!  It was a great fun way to learn our names!  Thank you Pinterest!
Friday night I came home and got WILD!  5 pounds of colored rice is WILD.  Right?  No?  Well I am a kindergarten teacher and I am not afraid to admit I spent part of my Friday evening coloring 5 pounds of rice.  Don’t judge.
And be sure to keep your eyes open for an exciting reveal coming Sunday night!

I have decided to host my very first linky party!  I know everyone of us have heard kids say the funniest things.  It’s almost a daily occurrence for all of us.  If the parents only knew what their darlings told us, they’d be mortified!  But it provides us with a much needed laugh and some help lowering our stress level.
My second year in Kindergarten I had a quirky little boy who loved to sing and dance.  I have never seen a child have so much fun singing and dancing in my class.  He was the epitome of dance like no one is watching.  One day, my friend came down the hallway with his signature smile.  I greeted him and said, “How are you today?”  His response:  “Naked.”  I said, “No, how do you feel this morning?”  He responded, “I feel naked!”  I guess we all have those days where we feel naked!
What is the funnies thing or things a student has said to you?  Link up and share your funniest kid quote!
